Passionate UI designer who designs a creative and innovative UI.

Chloe is working on redesigning Samsung.com which is a good springboard to achieve true CX (Customer Experience) beyond UX (User Experience). She has been trying to accomplish perfect CX which encompasses with user journey of on-offline by analyzing pre-purchase phase and post-purchase phase of user experience. Simultaneously, She is also participating in a project to establish a design system of Samsung.com as a core designer.

As a UI expert, she has been designing UI of different media such as TV, mobile, and web for about 10 years. Especially she has a majority of UI design experiences about big screens like TV. To popularize the very first smart TV, she designed the vast majority of TV applications and built user experience principles of TV. Through an inside venture project in Samsung, she was able to launch a new social media mobile application in the android market and participated in the SXSW (South by Southwest) Conference & Festival held in Texas, Austin to promote it, thus receiving major attention from the tech media. She has a strong skill that can apply a UI/UX concept design into a mass production design. “The Sero”, a rotatable TV which was released in Korea and in the USA during the CES 2020 is the representative example to prove her ability. To design a better UI, she has constantly made prototypes reflected creative UI/UX ideas based on cutting edge technology.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS

Senior UI Designer, Customer Experience Lab

Jun 2019 – Present

Redesigned UI of Samsung.com based on user research focused on generation Z, who prefer “snackable content” and are accustomed to using mobile devices, and successfully rolled out the new design to 81 countries globally.
Led a project to establish a design library of Samsung.com for a more consistent UI between local websites and the headquarter website.

UI Designer, Future Experience Design Team

Jul 2016 – May 2019

Created new UI scenarios based on cutting-edge trend researches as well as suggested a new UI by making a full working prototype alongside product designers and developers.
Successfully applied a UI/UX concept design into a mass production design while verifying its feasibility. (e.g. “The Sero”, a rotatable TV which was released in Korea and in the USA during the CES 2020.)
Made a mobile application where users can simulate products through AR (Augmented Reality).
Simultaneously created a new remote control UI prototype that can be synchronized with more than 2 devices through AR.

UI Designer, Venture Company Accelerated by Samsung

Jul 2015 – Jul 2016

Launched a new social media mobile application in the android market and participated in the SXSW (South by Southwest) Conference & Festival held in Texas, Austin to promote it, thus receiving major attention from the tech media.
Reached the top ranking on the newest app category in the android market for a week and received the best review from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation.
Was in charge of all the design works involving UI, visual interaction, and video editing.

UI Designer, Smart TV UI Mass Production Design Team

Dec 2010 – Jul 2015

Designed a lot of preloaded applications for Samsung’s Smart TV building up professional experience in mass production.
High comprehension on “10-foot UI experience” as well as ability to visualize UI structures on lean-back devices such as TVs.
Suggested various creative UI solutions for the very first line of Samsung Smart TVs and made a TV SDK (Software Development Kit) for third-party developers, thus contributing to popularizing Samsung Smart TVs in the market.
